Liquid Biopsies & Cell-Free DNA Extractions
Accelerating Diagnostic Discovery, Development, and Delivery
Azenta has developed a fully automated proprietary liquid biopsy workflow involving cell-free DNA (cfDNA) extraction from plasma designed to promote sample quality. The workflow accommodates either whole blood or isolated plasma as a starting material, and can be performed on samples newly shipped to us or samples already stored at an Azenta site. If you are shipping new samples for this service, we recommend using Streck® or PAXgene™ Blood DNA tubes or equivalent for best results. Liquid biopsy and cell-free DNA extraction solutions from Azenta help you accelerate diagnostic discovery, development, and delivery.

Cell-Free DNA Extraction Workflow
STEP 1
Receive Sample & Register to LIMS
Sample is either shipped to us or retrieved from our storage. Upon receipt, sample is registered or updated in the Limfinity® Sample Management System software, which supports 21 CFR, part 11 compliance and continually tracks parent/stock sample and child/aliquot relationships.
STEP 2
Sample Processing
Beginning within 24 hours of receiving or retrieving the sample, sample processing follows unified SOPs and ensures consistent sample integrity and quality.
STEP 3
cfDNA Extraction
Cell-free DNA is isolated following our quality-controlled processes, including silica column or magnetic bead-based technologies.
STEP 4
Quality Assessment
Our proficiency-tested methodology includes sample quality checks for DNA recovery rates, concentration, and yield.
STEP 5
Cryopreservation & Storage or Downstream Analysis
Store the sample at Azenta for future use or consider downstream analysis which includes Clinical Sequencing, CLIA Whole Genome Sequencing, Targeted Sequencing, or qPCR with our GENEWIZ Multiomics & Synthesis Solutions team.
Downstream Analysis
with our GENEWIZ Multiomics & Synthesis Teams
Clinical Sequencing
CLIA Whole Genome Sequencing
Targeted Sequencing
